I have been assigned to fix a broke program, access coding is a little new to me. The program has one form to allow editing/adding to a current database. The form has next/previous/add/delete buttons. most of the nine fields on the form are easily understood and easy to work with. There are 2 combo boxes that are fed by the same database but different fields and they are overlaid with 1 text box each in something I have never seen before. Needless to say something broke, the adds no longer work and neither do the deletes. The 2nd combo box seems to be the driver it contains numerics that are identification to a name. if you click the box to start typing it drops down and "finds" your number and associated name which appears in the text box overlaid on the first cbox. Or the reverse happens cbox1 to text overlay on cbox2. I am trying to remove the textbox overlays and add an extra form to add only with text boxes, since the users are opening the databases to get this to work now anyway. I have a problem with when I select a number from box 2 i cant get the corresponding name to show in box one and it is in the drop down on two.
PS> multiple non access programmers have beat this up, so I am the last. TO bad they did not save the ORIGINAL source, it would have been nice.
