Hello everyone.

I am fairly new to Adobe Illustrator and my biggest question is:

How do I export a TIFF in 2 colors (b&w)???

I am trying to create images for an SGML publishing system. We are using ccit4 images (most of our graphics are technical line art). For some reason, I can get the images to appear in our authoring application, but they will not print, and the problem has been attributed to more than 2 colors in the art (the original images we import are PCX files). We can go into PSP and export as a TIFF, but any text we create in there has randomly bolded letters in it.

Can someone PLEEEEEEEEZE help me????

-Thanks in advance,

I've never tried what you are doing, but...

The problem is that Illustrator assumes 4 color process from the start, and unless you create your own custom colors, you will always end up using a black that is actually based on four colors, not just black.

You should create your own black from the custom pallet and make sure that it has only black in it, and no cyan, magenta or yellow.

 Maybe that will work.

Andre Vandal
Andre Vandal
dezign@canada.com
<a href= Dezign's Sites
A bit of eveything Celestial
