We have 2 analogue lines and we are not able to identify which line is ringing, in essance if both lines where to a different business we would want to be able to answer each call differently, plus we cannot dial out using the different numbers.
Caller display is also enabled but doesnt work?
Any Help
Thanks in advance Andy

You need a seperate answer point for each line. ie point one line to one button on a phone or console and the other line to a different button. Then if you look to see what button is flashing/rining you can say hello thanks for calling company a or company B. This is setup in the Trunk service form ( newer software calls it trunk attributes or something ).

"we cannot dial out using the different numbers" I don't know what you mean by this do you want to use a different digit to dial out on one line versus the other or do you want to display something different.

Call display needs to be setup in the trunk COS, user COS and the CO trunk circuit descriptor for it to work. It also have to be provided by the trunk provider so it can be anyone of these.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

what I mean by cannot dial out using different numbers is that we have a number ending 123 with bt and another number ending 321 with a VoIP service provider. In the past we used the VoIP number for most of the calls and we would simply select the correct button for that associated number before dialling out. However now we don't have the option. We need to press 9 to dial out but we aren't able to pick which line is to be used for the call. Not sure if it's related but we can no longer do a 1471 to tell us who was calling? But I'm sure once we are able to select individual trunks to dial out this can be sorted.
Thanks in advance[tt][/tt]

9 will be set to pick a particular route that grabs one of the lines. If you want to dial to be able to choose which of the two lines you use to dial out on a call by call basis you would need to pick another number like 8 as the leading digit for the other route. Other wise bepending on the number of phones involved you would have to convert the trunks to "direct trunk select" lines if you want your PBX to operate like a key system. Doing so however restricts some of the features you are able to use.

Not sure what you do with 1471 but you would need to setup an ARS string to use it.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
