I want confirmation from someone as to whether part number NTAB3508 is the right hard drive upgrade kit that ports the information from the 2.5 hard drive allowing you to upgrade and not having to reload the drive with all the data and voicemail etc? I was under the impression that there was two different hard drive upgrade kits? One for a clean install and one for porting the information. Have I got the right part number? From there can I just go through 3.01>3.5, 3.5>3.6 and 3.6>3.7 on a 1000 unit? Not a more direct route as I understand?

That is the correct preprogrammed 3.01 hard drive. This will only work if your system has an 8.4GB drive, otherwise the upgrade software will not give you the option to copy info to the new drive.

You can eliminate one of your steps and go from 3.01 to 3.6, then upgrade to 3.7. Or, upgrade to 3.5 first, then upgrade to 3.7. No need to go from 3.5 to 3.6 then to 3.7.

Hey Biv343! So there's only the one drive upgrade kit? My BCM currently has the 2.5 on the 8.4GB drive. I was under the impression that there were 2 different part numbers. One that is just 3.01 for a replacement startup and the other that ports the information from the 2.5 upwards? Do you have this drive in stock or what it's worth?

I've got the right part number. Where/who can I get this part from?

Order it from your distributor - it's a common part. Or, you can get a 20GB drive and use the 3.01 BIT CD to make your own unitialized 20GB drive.

I've got an uninitialized 20GB drive now. I'm trying to figure out how to port the data from the 8 gig to the 20GB. I know that if you do a 3.01 upgrade with the software key it will ask you to change drives midway and port the data. Is that a specialized drive that comes with the upgrade kit or a regular uninitialized 20GB drive?
I tried doing a backup off the 8GB and then restoring it on the 20GB to be safe, but it says it's not a matched version with the original being RC2.5 and the new RC2.4. I have an FP1 Maintenance Release 1 upgrade but it says it only works with RC2.4_?

It is a regular unitialized 3.01 drive that is needed for the upgrade.

Thanks! I've finally got this thing done and up to the 3.7 status.
