Just bought a x335 1U and am a little concerned with the rack mount that comes with it.

Does the server just sit on the side rails and not attach in any way to the rails? I'm used to the x345 and Netfinity series where the server physically attaches in some manner to the side rails, then the rails will slide in and out with the server. The rails included with the x335 don't have any slide mechanism and just appear to be a rail for the server to literally sit on in my cabinet.

Or am I missing a piece to the rail kit? Although I don't see any place on the side of the server for a kit to attach to.

Just wanted to check before putting the server into my rack.

Thanks.

yes, it just rides on top of the rails inside the rack. We have a few. ALso, the front of the server has two screws that secure the server to the rack. I guess the hole thought os that they are so light, if you need to repair them just pull it out of the rack....

Yep. That's the idea. The screws on the faceplate should be sufficient to hold the server in place unless your rack does some serious 4-wheeling.

Ok, thanks for the replies! No plans for off-roading the server, so I'll slip it in and make a mental note not to pull too hard if/when I need to work on it!
