I just started using an ADR.2 60/120 drive and downloaded the 14-day trial of 1Safe 3.7. I find it to be oversimplified, and after running a trial backup (w/compression) last night of a 60GB drive that it couldn't backup the entire drive b/c the compression ratio was 1:.8! That seems illogical. I've heard Veritas NetBackup doesn't recognize the Onstream drives. I'd appreciate any/all suggestions for Onstream-compatible software solutions.

Thanks,
Craig

I'm not really a big fan of the Echo software, but as far as what sw you'd want to use, it depends on your budget. Veritas' Backupexec works pretty well with these drives as does ArcServ. those are the 2 big ones. if you don't have $800 to blow on sw though, NTBackup works fine as well, but no compression :( -- I think Dantz may work with that drive also, and it's cheaper than the big 2. Tapeware will work, but their compression doesn't work, even though they say it does.
Thanks,
Greg
