We do client backups with a retention/browse policy of 31 years. If the expiration date is longer then 19.01.2038 the date is set to "no date".

Is there a networker patch to fix that "UNIX date bug" ?

We have that bug in networker 7.22 and 7.4.

Unfortunately, i do not know whether this bug will be fixed as several alternatives exist.

I am in doubt whether it makes sense at all to keep the CFI for so long. However, the retention policy may be an issue.

On the other hand, you do not need the retention date at all. Here are 2 workarounds:
- You may set the media to "manual disable". Consequently, NW will not overwrite it manually.
- You may physically remove it from a jukebox making it unreachable for NW.
- You may simply write protect the media.

That is the last date representable in standard unix time - seconds since January 1, 1970 (give or take a day depending on particular platform), in a 32-bit signed integer.

Not a bug so much as a limit.
