1841 Router limitations 1

How many acl's can the 1841 process? I have

Router --- PIX ----Network and I am debating on putting some of the foreign IP's (China) that bang on the pix and put that load on the 1841 router. any thoughts? think the 1841 could handle a few IP that make several requests at a time?

I would try the Cisco IOS firewall,to cut down on the access-list proccessing.It will only let traffic in that started on the inside.

Well the 1841 should be able to handle lots of access-list with it's new CPU.After you implement the access-list monitor the CPU usage.

Are you trying to block FTP, or othet protocols as well?

The password dictionary attacks can be thwarted by UDP/TCP Bomb Detection attack signatures in IDS...
