180GB harddisk partitioning

I have bought a 180GB harddisk and want to partition it under RH 7.1. But I use fdisk and find that it can only recognize the disk as 128GB, what should I do? use other partitioning tools?

This could be a hardware (chip) problem

I used to have a celeron 560 hz chip, this did not recognize sizes beyond 38 Gb
