172 and 162 boot errors after system erase, will not seek f/d for boot

hi all,
After running a system erase on a compaq prosignia 300 off the smart start 2.5 cd all was fine. Until the reboot.
All i can do now is start the server and it comes up with error 172 (being a problem with the eisa setup) as i wiped the config then error 162 system options not set and it beeps twice
It will not seek the floppy after that. Just sits there like a paper weight.
It has an onboard scsi port so i tried a adaptec scsi card it will go past the errors and you can run the adaptec utils then exit with no problems however it still wont seek the floppy for boot..

I have tried changing switch 4 to boot from floppy regardless of eisa config but still no joy.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Hi!

I've got the same problem. But the server also doesn't boot from CD anymore. This makes it impossible to install or run the System Configuration Utility.

Do you already know how to solve this problem ?
