16xx Series Phones...

I just got our manager to get us a 1616 to play with prior to recommending them.

The HTTP file transfer went smooth (once I remembered it was HTTP and not TFTP).

But now my 1616 is showing some weird things...
1) It ONLY shows the extension number...won't show the user name instead like all the other IPO phones.
2) The appearance keys only show up as a=, b=, c=, etc...not a major concern, but some clients prefer seeing APP or Sys/Acc (old merlin clients prefer these labels )

Any suggestions?
BTW-The other feature keys DO show their 'custom' labels in the display when pressed.

It work exactly like that.

For the 1603 and 1608 you can disable the "Call Timer" thru the Menu button on the Phone to see more display info, the 1616 has two lines so no need for that.

What type of IPO you have the phones connected?

The 16XX work on IPO 412/500 with sw 4.2+

They also work on the 401(Small Office Edition) and the 406V2 but they are DISCONTINUED.

Its not the display giving me problems...but rather what is displayed.

This is on a IP500, 4.2.11....I've also tried it on our demo Small Office (also 4.2.11).

Every other IPO phone 24xx/46xx/54xx/56xx/64xx all show the users name on the display, these 16xx's dont. They only show the extension number.

The line/appearance labeling is a minor concern, but I do have 5 former merlin clients that when upgraded to IPO with 5600 IP phones, wanted the appearrance keys labeled Sys/Acc 1, Sys/Acc 2, etc....since they had been using the merlin for 15 years prior and were used to those.

You could print out the paperlabels, or let them buy the 5610.
