HELP!!

I have a customer that seems to have locked his phone. But i cant find anywhere how to unlock it.

Please help

how did they lock it?

everything. apart from the importance of depth in a squad. and what a chequebook looks like......

Phone locked means two possible things as far as I know. You have a ip500 and have over 32 extensions and do not have the pro license OR you phone is restricted to internal calls only. Check your restrictions.

There are no restrictions. It just has a B in the corner where the G should be.

What do the single characters that appear on many of the Avaya IP Office phones mean?

On Display telephones, the following letters can appear:
• B indicates that the user is barred from making outgoing external calls and can only be used for internal calls.
• D indicates that the user is set to forward all calls.
• G indicates that the user has their hunt group membership enabled.
• H indicates that the user has placed a call on hold.
• N indicates that the user has Do Not Disturb turned on.
• P indicates the number of parked calls.

can you make an internal call or is the keypad non responsive

I think Blow83 is blown away by the simplicity of the solution. To explain TomMills's answer a bit further:

In manager untick:
user\telephony\supervisor settings\outgoing call bar.

That one hurt, it was almost too obvious :p

But I think Escorthosis is on the right track. Sounds like the user enabled Outgoing Call Bar somehow. Don't have any experience with 16xx phones, but I would definitely check that.

He starts wit "I have a Customer" look more that hes the customer himself...:p

Thanks for the help and insults. I have had a look at the call barr and it isn't ticked. Any more bright ideas?

By the way i'm not the customer!!!!

Yes, If your'e not the customer you are obviously a trained tech, so go fix it yourself and save the snide comments for your customers.

By the way Tom, thanks for the list of what the letters mean. I couldn't find that on the knowledgebase. was having one of them days yesterday.

no worries

try taking the call bar off the NoUser profile (for testing)

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
