We have a CS1000 pbx using nortel 61c cabinets. I was wondering something.... Each digital line card hold 16 sets. Do they make a digial line card that will allow more then 16 sets? Ive asked several older telecom guys and they have told me that they use to but it never worked well. Is there any truth to that?

There was a 24-port version a long time ago.

There were also DLC48 (48 port version) used on 11C mini, it went in physical slot 4 but was programmed as 3*16 in slots 4, 5 and 6 (that's why older CS1000e chassis don't have physical slots 5 and 6). These broke out on 2 Amphenol connectors - 24 phones on each connector.

Remember current DLC have 16 physical connections but each connection has 1 voice and 1 data signal on the line (Time multiplexed). You can see something similar with Call Pilot MGate cards where ports 16+ default to CLS=DTA (data) and need to be set to VCE.
