my customer currently is using a 16 port nam 4.1 with xc6.1 mics. I don't want to use the acd because of cross file problems so i would like to use a cp100 and use as the call center only. Is this possible and if so how do you remove the voice mail feature codes from cp100? if this is not possible then would i have to install a second nam and use the minuite? any help out there would be awsome. thanks, jeff

The CallPilot and NVM will share common feature codes.
You cannot use both applications.

You can install a second NAM and install Prelude software since co-resident mail and ACD is unsupported.

It may be cheaper to install a CallPilot 150.
It comes shipped with 8 voice mail channels.
32 mailboxes
2 unified messaging seats
Basic Call Center

You can install Minuet on the existing mail without purchasing a second NAM.

wow that was fast thank you. if i go the with the second nam and after i install the prelude software how do i remove the voice mail feature codes and voice mail function of the acd nam? when using the nam as acd do you have the file coruption problem causing you to reboot all the time?

If a Prelude is ordered the Norstar Voice Mail software will not be preloaded therefore you do not have to remove.
You will have to install the prelude using an external CDROM drive with a parallel port known as a backpack.
You should turn off set relocation on the KSU.
You can install Minuet also without affecting the mail but you will have to share voice channels.
Corruption should not be an issue if you are not co-resident.
There are 3 levels of Cintech ACD software:
Prelude
Cinphony Level 1
Cinphony Level 2

If you are looking at Minuet I assume you want something rudimentary
The Prelude supports 15 Active agents and 3 ACD groups.

If you buy a brand new CP100 and cofigure it as Call Center device on startup, it will be 4 port Minuet like ACD device. Once you do this you can't us it for anything else, but for the money it's a cheap ACD.

For some extra $$ you can get the keycode for Call Center Reporting. This will allow ACD stats to be collected on a PC.

I can't see where CP100 Call center codes would conflict in any way with NAM Vmail codes. The Call center would/should set up using the alternate code group which the CP will shift to when it senses the NAM in the system much like a Flash. The Call center codes are F904, 908 and 909. F983 will shift to F913. The NAM has been known to shift it's codes as well.. but sometimes without human direction.
The CP100 call center beats Minuette hands down and is easy to use. Set up of the Call Center is done during initialization. CC is selected instead of Vmail.

NEGATIVE NOTE: One poster on this forum used a CP100 as a second voice mail with a NAM and observed other conflicts that were not Fcode related. I don't know if it was a NAM software release, or what.. and it might not show up with CP100 as a CC. I don't think anyone got to the bottom of the problem. Anyone able to bench test this one?

I have been told by Nortel that this configuration is not supported.
However it is rumoured that the next release of CallPilot 3.0 will support multiple CP150 cabinets per switch.

David,
I've fired up a NAM and a Flash, a Flash and a Flash, a CP and a Flash, but not yet a NAM and a CP. The poster that did the NAM and the CP had the problem I stated in the last post. Like the Flash the CP will search and use the alternate codes available. I've also done quite a bit with both minuette and the CP call center. Minuette is really OK except for the auto log out stuff. I haven't had a coresident problem with minuette and the voice mail at NVMail Rls 3.

Arr you are correct about the CallPilot registering it's own codes with the KSU however interoperability is not supported. My previous post about the feature codes was not correct but I believe my advice to be sound.
I would not recommend the CP100 along with the NVM.

The flash mail and ACD were designed to operate together on the Norstar and register with unique feature codes.
The NVM and Minuet were also designed to operate together on the Norstar.
The NVM and Cintech ACD's were designed to run co-resident on the same NAM but do to a hack of the OS/2 file system the file structure sometimes corrupts. Therefore co-resident NVM and Cintech Prelude and Cinphony are no longer supported.
CallPilot 3.0 will allow multiple cabinets on a single KSU by design.
Only problem with Minuet is it's scalability and lack of reporting.
Install a Minuet and live with it's quirks or install a Cintech product while it is still around.
Norstar Voice Mail and Cintech are officially manufacture discontinued by Nortel.
In the future only CallPilot 150 3.0 will support a scalable Call Center option for Norstar.
CallPilot 3.0 will offer a professional call center application similar to BCM 3.6
