We use Exchange 2K Standard edition and I am nearing the 16GB store limit. When I select the priv.edb and priv.stm in windows explorer and select properties, the size is displayed as:
--14.3 GB (15,396,519,936 bytes)--
I assume the 14.3 is the actual size of the files and the 15.4 is the size taken on the disk. Does anyone know which will trigger the database limit?

Thanks

14.3 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 15354508083.2
14.4 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 15461882265.6

So, 14.3 is an approximation of the gigabytes occupied.

So do I have, 600MB or 1.7GB to go?

1.7GB (almost) is available. I wouldn't cut it too close, though.

Yes, you have 1.7GB to go. You need to be solving this now though...

I know, but at least I have days instead of hours to make a move...

Thanks for your help.

Use ESM to find the biggest mailbox and get that user to wipe some of it out. Set your deleted item retension time lower. Move some emails to public folders (you get another 16GB for those).

Days becomes weeks.
