What is the best way to make a 150MB AVI file smaller to about 99MB and still have it playable in Windows Media Player without having to remove any of the "scenes/frames"?

Is there a format that it can be changed to which enables better compression and will I need to purchase any software in order to do this?

Don't say the M word; you sound ignorant.

Re-encode it with a different codec, assuming it's better than the one the file is encoded with already.

Xvid would be the way to go, if it's not already in XVid.

Thanx for the suggestions fellas. Duh, why didn't I think of "Googling" it??!!
