15 User Exch 5.5 solution

We are running 3 srvr (1600 users) Exch 5.5 in NT domain in the states. We have a 15 person office in Australia (W2k AD domain) that complains of the time it takes to email each other.

Any ideas on a solution?

My manager is suggesting they get their own exchange server for their 15 folks. Seems like overkill, or am I missing something?

I understand they tried an email service in the past and didn't like it.

depends what they need - just mail ? then a pop / imap connection to your exchange system shld do the trick - whats there connection to the web ? alternatively setup sendmail or similar on a small/old box - if they are playing with shared calenders and need access to your gals and public folders etc - stick with exchange even for 15 users
