Hey all...

Do the DBM32 modules require an external power supply when connected to a 1416 set? The system I'm working with is an Ip500v2, I just upgraded system to 6.0.14 maint release.

You can dial from one of the DBMs but the lamps do not light. I assume the DBM just needs a power supply to power the lamps?

Thanks for your help.

Did they get the GBM32_B_1_X_X.hex upgrade filse?
Are the buttons programmed as "User"?

Also adding Enable_OTT to the user's Source Number settings you'll get one touch transfer.

Yes, you need a power supply. Take a 1151D.
Digitals sets need a power supply when connecting any button module.

If you have 1 BM32 no power supply needed if you have 2 BM32's then you'll need an extra power supply.

From the docs;

For the 1416 and 1616 variants, additional buttons can be added using a DBM32 or BM32 modules respectively. On the 1616 phone, use of a BM32 requires the phone to be powered by a 1600 Series power supply unit rather than PoE.

Thanks for the info guys.

We have 2 DBM32 modules, both phones connecting back to separate DS8 modules, neither DBM or 1416 set is connected to power supply currently.

It sounds like I should just have our sales folks order 2 power supplies to be safe and install them.

Hi You should look at the post 1616 BM32 if you are using 2 modules on one phone as the 2nd one will not work

Don't confuse things. He has a digital phone and a DBM32 which just needs power. One 1151D will do.

Thanks everybody for their input. We're going to order the power supply for each DBM and install. That should take care of it.

This will lock up on regular when you add 2 units with user presentation. If you have sold these all I can say is good luck. I have been fighting with Avaya for the last three weeks as the following do not work with 2 add on units and Avaya are well aware of the issue. I have tried 1416 with 2 DBM32 units also 1616 with 2 BM32 units all with the appropriate power supply. The only units I have working are the 9650 handsets with the 24 button add ons. I hope you have more luck than what I am having. Tier 3 have been made aware of the issue but still no fix.

I think he has two digital sets with each only one DBM32 so with 2 separate powersupplies he should be allright.
