1403 fails to upgrade

Has anybody come accross any 1403 handsets that wont upgrade. I have had 2 sites where about 4-5 handset failed to upgrade. Once plugged in they get to 17k and hang. I swapped the phone with another and that upgraded without issues (same port).

Systems are
V6 to v8.1 upgrade, v2 cab 1xDS8 & 1xPhone8
V8.1 to v9 upgrade, v2 cab 1xPhone8, 1x UC Module, 3xDigital 30B & 1xDigital30

Also on another note should the Digital 30B units take a long time to boot up. It takes about 3 minutes to boot up after the system does.

Yes I had that too with 1403s, nothing can be done to upgrade them, send them back to Avaya.

hi have you tried to point the PHONE FILE SERVER TYPE to MEMORY CARD?

Have pointed to both. But that did not make any difference.
