Our sales man has quoted a Mitel 5000 with a PRI and 140 IP Phones (5320 and 5330)

From your experience, does the Mitel 5000 support that amount of IP Phones?

Because in the past I had a customer with a CX controller and 130 IP phones and I had lot of problems related to the system resources, please advise

Hi,

Do you mean the HX?

The HX controller in theory is designed to be a 250 user system. Standard the HX processor module supports 75 IP resources. You can however get a Processor expansion card which increases the IP resources from 75 to 175.

It depends on a few factors though really. Trunks, VM, Phones. You can oversubscribe too, when a call is placed the device will camp on and wait for IP resources.

Thanks ChrisMitel,
the controller is an HX, from my understanding,I should be okay to use 140 IP phones with the Processor expansion card?
