Does anyone knows how we can install a 1230 IP phone over a 3.7 BCM....

Can I run a tftp server an apply a compatible firware..

I just sold few of these to one of my customer but I didn`t notice the system version...

Please help....

I believe they only work on BCM50 R3 and BCM200/400 V4 assuming they have the respective latest software updates

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

Actually - they only work on BCM 50 3.0 and BCM 450 1.0. The 1200-series are NOT supported at all on a BCM 1000/200/400.

Even thought it's "not supported", I've used a 1220 phone on a BCM50 R2 and it worked most of the time.
I can't be sure, but the system may have recognised the phone as an 1120.

I tried a 1230 phone on the BCM50 R2 and there was no way to get it to work.

I seriously doubt that (even if a 1220 was to work on a BCM 4.0) a 1120 could work on a BCM 3.7.

I would imagine Nortel will release a patch for the BCM200/400 with firmware for the 12xx series as the 2xxx series are MD in the coming months.

Well I hope so.... otherwise it would be another good reason why NORTEL is going down, by making incompatible phone.

When your system do the job even on a 3.7, why paying for an upgrade when there is no benefit to use it...

Thanks guys... I finally exchange his new phones for the i2007 model I had in stock... what a deal he made
