1230 Ip phones

I just did a install with 3 1230 ip phones on the system. The phones are up and working with no problems. The problem I am having is nothing in the manual actually works. Ie. directory and speed dials. Am I missing something. When you hit directory shouldnt there be a list of extensions that are on the system? Even when you hit services the manual says you should get a bunch of telephone options. All we get is features such as dnd, background music, park etc. Any help would be great.

The directory button will list the mailboxes that have been initialized and not the sets name.(if set, you can enter either first or last name or press # to get the complete list)
You can program the feature you want in the order you want in the element manager to populate under the "services" key.


 
Make sure that you are looking at a User Guide for a BCM system. Phones work differently (and features / options are different) on CS 1000 versus BCM versus CS 2100/2000 versus...
 
Sounds like it is workingas it should for a BCM. Have you programmed the speed dials yet?
 
Directory (feature 988 I believe) uses mailboxes that have two things: Appear in the Company Directory selected, and is initialized. Regardless, a mailbox will not appear in the company directory until it is initialized.
