1220 term crashing

We have a site with 1220 Radiant term (using Aloha 6.1)that is at drivethru that keeps crashing when a credit card is swiped that is a declined card. We have swapped the terminal, checked the connections and the only other variable that is new to us the using Mercury payment systems as the credit cards processor. Has anyone ran into this?
