HI I have a customer who asked for two new 1220IP phones they didnt work as the customer was on BCM50rel2 therefore I upgraded the bcm to rel5. I then added the patches which got one of the phones working but one still just reboots (loading bootc - manual config nortel - connecting to server) then reboots. these phones where plugged into the rel2 system which may have tried to downgrade the firmware im not sure but any ideas?

thanks

U may have to unplug set a few times for it to wake up and connect. Run into this same issue w/ the 1100 series sets.

1200s ship with a very basic bootloader firmware so the first thing they need to do is connect to a server (BCM, CS 1000,..) to download their actual firmware. The bootloader firmware is not as robust as the full firmware in dealing with DHCP/VLAN/... You may need to manually configure the 12xx (turn off VLAN,..) so that it can connect to the BCM and download the full firmware.

Thanks Guys i got the phones working! not even sure how lol think it may have just been the bcm allowing the connection eventually
