I have an unlicensed Exchange 2010 server. According to the GUI There are 11 days remaining and I was hoping not to rebuild this when it expires. I have read that it will continue to work but will prompt for a license key.
Has anyone let their trial run beyond the 120 days? Is this what happens? Is there any other behaviour I will see? Will I be able to apply a license key after it has expired?

In order to be in compliance, you need to purchase a license. However, if you don't acquire it in time, the server will continue to work, but you'll get a nag screen when going into EMC.

Yes, you can apply a license key post-expiration.

I appreciate I should license this but it is used purely in a lab to test other stuff so if I don't have to spend money on this ...
