11d- managed media server problems

Has anyone encountered problems with the BE services not starting ONCE the BE server sets a centralized admin server and becomes a managed media server? I am using 11d.

usually its a problem becuse it cant connect to the database on the CAS server. Are you using SAN/SSO option along with CASO option?
