Good Morning CS1K experts! I have a large hospital that has been encouraged by their Avaya reps to purchase Secure Router 2330's with 1140 SIP phones to be used in their remote clinics, etc. They currently have SMG's or SRG's with H.323 devices for failover purposes. Their phones are currently using a lot of line appearances almost functioning like a key system in some of the smaller clinics cases. I have not been able to find any documentation that details how many line appearances the SIP stations can have but I have heard from peers that it is only one or maybe two. Does anyone have experience with the 1140 sets as SIP endpoints yet?

I believe the latest version of SIP firmware 4.0 allows you to have what is called a Multiple Directory Number Appearance....

SIP functionality available is a combination of what the endpoint (IP Phone) is capable of and what the telephony platform (CS 1000 or orhter) is capable of.

You want to get a copy of the "SIP Line" NTP which corresponds to whatever version of software you are running on your CS 1000. There is a section in that NTP which defines the features which are supported over the CS 1000 SIP Line and that feature list has changec over time. As an example, "Multple Line Appearance / Bridged Line Appearance" requires CS 1000 7.0 or later. The latest SIP software for the 11xx does support that functionality.
