I was just using a 1140E on a CS1K and noticed that it allowed you to scroll through multiple pages of keys, like a shift function -- allowing you define more than 6 keys on the set.

I know this function wasn't in the older BCMs, but does anyone know if it is available on the BCM50 3.0 system?

The shift feature is not available on BCM50 release 3.0, no scrolling.

If you want more keys on an IP phone on a BCM 50 3.0, then look at the IP Phone 1230. Similar screen size as the 1140E but has 10 keys rather than 6. The display area for name/number/.. is compressed to compensate.

Thanks! I already have 1230s/1220s. I was looking at the high resolution display / backlighting on the 1140E, but really need more than 6 keys -- so the 1140E is not an option for this setup, at least not without shift feature.

What about using expansion modules for the 1140e phones?

HyTech:

That is a great suggestion. The 1140E with KEMs may work, but adds substantially to desk space and cost.

Another issue would be AnswerDNs don't seem to like KIM/KEMs. From what I can tell, they are limited to the phone's standard keys. 2 or 3 I/C keys leaves little room for AnswerDNs. A secretary may answer calls for 4 or 5 people.

I may keep that in mind if the user demands some of the more advanced features.

I don't think the KEM is supported on the BCM50 but I amy be wrong.

tnphoneman,KEMs are supported on BCM50 3.0. At least the ones for the 2000 series and 1200 series. I have two connected to a 1230 as an eCAP.

Expansion Module for 1120E/1140E is supported on BCM 50 3.0. A patch is supposedly forthcoming to add support on BCM 200/400 4.0.
