Hi I am trying to add key expansion module to a 1140e on a bcm 400.
It seems to connect to the 1140e but I am unable to use any of the keys. Is there something I need to do to make the KEM work or should the bcm automatically recognise the module?

First of all you need to have Release 4.0. Secondly you need to have the system patched up tp date. If that is done, you need to set up the extension with a CAP/KIM assignment.

Hi CTCINY

I do have release 4.0. Unsure about the patching. Could you tell me how I could check?
Also how/where would I set up the CAP/KIM assignment?
Sorry to appear so green. Only had the 400 a week.

Cheers

Go to the Administration tab.
Expand the Software Management folder.
Highlight Software Update History.
The right pane will populate with all patches that have been installed.
You can sort off any of the column headings.
Sort off the date column to see when patches were last installed.
