I have 2 1140e IP phones that won't connect to the server. I can ping them from the EM and see them connected in the BES50GE but they don't finish booting. I tried unplugging and holding the up and 2 key but when I released after the MW light went out it just continued to boot as normal.

I need help desperately. Took me a long time of numerous reboots to even do a level 1 reset after finding the backup the customer had and the 2 phones are still not working. If I do a level 2 and a restore from the backup file will everything get restored or will I need to copy keycodes, etc.?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Try playing around with the DHCP settings on the 1140E. I ve had the same problem in the past, and once I configured some of the ip settings on the phone, the set magically comes online after a phone restart. I believe i turned DHCP off and then on again, pressed apply and the phone restarted and came online.

Let me know if this works.

The problem is I can't get access to the phones' DHCP settings at this point.
Is there another method besides pressing the 4 buttons after Nortel appears or holding the up key & 2 key while powering on and waiting for the MWL to go off and then releasing the keys? Because, neither will give me access to the DHCP/IP settings on the phones and they are currently set up as static.

Joe,

I saw your reply to my other thread and will try it.

Thanks!

For the 12xx/11xx/2007, you can reset the locally-configured paramaters to a factory default by entering the key sequence [*][*][7][3][6][3][9] IP Phone MAC address [#][#]. When entering the MAC address use key [2] for hex digits A/B/C and key [3] for hex digits D/E/F.

Thank you everyone for the assistance. I will keep the key sequence from gwebster.

Luckily, if I pressed the 4 buttons immediately after the Nortel "song" I could gain access to the phone settings. Thanks again Joe.
