Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody could help me out. Our business has 1140e phones with the 0625C3G firmware. We just received a new 1140e equipped with 0625C6E, however we have been having trouble using a bluetooth headset with it (the headset is paired to the phone, however the headset doesn't respond when making calls. We tested it on our other phones and it works fine).

Is anybody able to provide these 2 firmwares? I want to try upgrading one of our existing phones and if the headset doesn't work after the upgrade, I was going revert both phones to the older firmware.

Thanks!

If the current firmware on your Bcm is 0625C3G, you should be able to do a force firmware download under "ressources" "Ip&Apps sets" on your newer sets.

As gberger alluded to, the IP Set Firmware resides on the BCM. You can't swap from one firmware load to another.
Typically, when you initially register the set, if the firmware on the BCM is newer, it will automatically update.
I would suspect you have 0625C3G on the BCM and the new set you received had the higher version of firmware already applied.
To update the firmware on the BCM, you need to apply the current patches.

Thanks gberger and SupportDude

Yes our BCM has 0625C3G and the New IP Phone has 0625C6E.

Maybe I will try a force firmware download on the new set and see if that helps (although I'm hesitant at this moment as the C6E is UNISTIM firmware 3.0 and has some important features we're looking at related to 802.1x that I want to try out).

I know with the i220x sets, the firmware can only be loaded through the BCM. however I'm pretty sure they also added the capability to TFTP the software on the 1140e's as you can specify a TFTP server / configuration file to deliver admin settings and software images to the phone.

You are lucky you are able to register because there is an issue that if the firmware version of the IP set is newer that what is on BCM,it will reject the registration and it will loop on downloading firmware

I've seen sets downgrade if the bcm has older f/w than what's on a set

What xtract is referring to is that IP Phone 1120E/1140E shipping since the early 2007 timeframe CANNOT run firmware lower than C39. If the SRG/BCM tries to download a lower release to them, then they will reject the download which could cause a loop.
