Normally IT support, but as we needed to install only 5 ports, we are doing this in-house.

My question is this. We have cat5e terminated into krone rj45 ports. I have what I thought was a krone punchdown tool, but someone told me it was a 110 punchdown.

What is the difference and can one be used on the other?? Tried searching the web but couldn't find a picture of each for comparison.

Any help gratefully received

don't use the 110 on krone blocks! you might want to call your local Graybar for info on a krone tool!

Krone usually has a cutoff blade that swings where a 110 has a sharp edge that cuts the wire against the jack.

Krone and BIX tools have a scissor like device that cuts the conductor instead of chopping the conductor as both 66 and 110 do.

DO NOT use the wrong tool on a block...ALWAYS use the right tool for the job, you will most likely ruin the block with the wrong tool.

Harris/Dracon makes a "dually" blade for Krone AND 110. It includes the scissor blade and is cool for 110. However, it can't be used on most jacks, because of the density.
