11.5.9 migration

I need to migrate a production R11.5.9 instance on Solaris to a new server, and possibly, change the server hostname as well. What's the best (supported) way of doing this? All tiers on one server.

I'd prefer not to use adclone as there are problems even with cloning into a test instance, let alone a production one. Also, the system is heavily patched and customized, so a re-install is too much work.

Would backup - and - restore the applmgr and the oracle directories work and be supported?
