Hi all...
I have to backup a 10g (10.2.0.1.0) db asm rac raw (but without ocfs as we cas see later) with Brightstor arcserve backup 11.1
The manual reports no particular configurations for the 10g, so I assume that the agend must be installed as usual, without modifications. The o.s. is windows 2003 ent. server with no service pack, as reported in the compatibility matrix on c.a. site.
The only disk that is visible from both server is the single c disk of each node, the other disks (raw) are listed in the device list, but not readble from the os, as usual in this kind of installation.
The problem is simple...I can't connect the db with the agent with sys, at all.The istance name is correct, as the username and the pw, I can connect the db via sqlplus. Because this is the first installation of 10g maked from our dbas they can't help me too much, and I'm a system administrator, I do not know oracle 10g at all.
Is the ocfs mandatory ? The dbas does not know this...
And where I can find documentation on 10.2.0.1.0 and this kind of backup problems ?
Of course the db is up and running ((with a problem that the dbas cant' still resolve when (for testing purposes) I shutdown one of 2 nodes, after rebooting it the db must be started manually!)) in archive mode with (I suppose) flash recovery area.
Any idea ?
Many thanks in advance.
