Customer has four 1070 multi line phones. On two of the four the intercom quality is poor, can barely hear with static. The static is only when using the intercom. ATT tech support only pointed to the service provider. Phone line quality is good. Swapped phones and tried adding some filters. The phones are good. The issue stays with the jack location. The jacks and wire are new. Short of replacing the wire and jacks is there fresh ideas out there. Thank you.

The jacks or terminations could have been done wrong and not by a telecom tech.
Call a telecom vendor to check it out and do some testing/repairing.

Another test to try would be to unplug the other two phones and see if the static goes away with just the two suspect positions still connected. There is a chance that one of the other phones...or jacks...is causing the problem.

at&t No-KSU devices...such as the 1070...communicate with each other by sending signals over the wiring used for telephone line #1...so...that position is the most critical for proper operation. DSL filtering should be before the junction point for all of the sets.
