Just starting to use Access - had a couple classes, but we only worked with existing databases. Now I'm building from scratch and have a very basic question:

When I created the new database, there was no prompt for where to put it or what to name it. How do I tell Access to give a new database a specific name and put it in a specific directory?

I'd simply use the Windows explorer.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Charliy, are you saying you can start brand new Access, create some tables, Forms, etc., then close Access and it never asks you what to name it and where to save it?

Have fun.

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

Sorry to take so long to reply - I've been in a BI class.

Andy, thank you, I tried it again and noticed that little panel in the bottom right corner that I didn't see the previous time (don't you just love how consistent MicroSoft is between products?)
