Hmm - and Cortana absolutely requires a Microsoft account. <sigh>

That's easy enough. Just never use Cortana.

Well quite. That's the strategy I'm sadly adopting. I did want to evaluate Cortana, and if all it required was a Microsoft Account to connect to the Cortana service (since it is in the cloud) it'd be fine. But what it actually does is insist that you drop your local login account and login to your PC with your Microsoft account instead, with all that that entails.
