Hi folks,

i have 2 1624G Routers stacked using IST and VRRP.
It works great so far. Now i made my switches redundant by using smlt.

After i connected one stack via smlt the problem came up. 5-7 normal 1ms pings and the 1 long 1000-1500ms ping.

I found out that this stack had 2 ports disabled by spanning tree. So i fixed that and rebooted the stack and my core.
Everything fine again.

Today i had the same problem again, nothing on the network has changed!

What could it be and how can i find out what is causing this issue?

One more question. If i want to connect a stack not only via 2 Gbics but with 4 what is to do on my 1624g's ??
I found out i can only set one smlt-id by port on the 1624g.

Thank you!

With smlt you should disable spanning tree on all ports between the switches.

there are 2 options for smlt configuration.

single port smlt is configured at the port level and gives you a single port per switch.

normal smlt is configured undere mlt. create an mlt on each switch and assign them an smlt id.
