That's a pretty one-sided view, particularly since the author of your first link also wrote an InfoWorld article entitled "10 reasons you should upgrade to Windows 10".
Driver support needs to improve, but that's a weak spot that should shape up if people wait and give it time before upgrading. There is a lot of hardware that may never get Win10 driver support though, so some people will find a nasty surprise waiting for them if they attempt it.
It is beginning to sound as if the "Windows 10 is the last Windows" idea has gone by the board with the announcement of the standard 10-year life cycle. So my own fears about future breaking changes that could break applications seem less and less likely each day. Microsoft really needs to find a way to rein in the marketing folks who seem to be causing many problems due to disingenuous messaging. The company needs to learn to accept dwindling market share as a fact of life instead of resorting to such panic-stricken tactics.
The best advice is probably just to wait a few months for Windows 10 to continue mutating until it achieves more maturity, then grab the free upgrade if you want it before it expires. Of course some of the larger updates like Redstone have now been pushed off until after the free upgrade offer expires.
Impressed by the replies of this topic, so here is my "Q" ??
I do NOT want to upgrade and use W8 for now, but I am forced (raped) to do it when going to the Windows update page... can I defend myself or do I have to be raped against my will ??
