In the process of converting Octel 250 to 10 digit dialling. When converting their system from 7 digits on outbound local calls to 10 digits, we try to enter their outbound access code, 8+10 digits or straight 10 digits for the attendant (0 out option) it does not process the call. We reach a recording saying to try our call again. We know it is not the line/port as we can make these same calls from the Octel line/port with a regular set connected to it. There must be something in the Octel that needs to be done.?? Thanks.

What is the setup i menu 6 for outcalling set at? It should be 8pn for local calls. Also on the 2nd page of menu 6-1 what do you have setup for local calls ? 7 or 10 digit?

Hi Ken,
Menu 6 is setup with 8pn. Menu 6.1 was setup as 7 digit. When we changed to 10 digit (for purposes of 10-digit dialling) we get "please try your call again".

is it setup just like the one below?
Menu 6 - Dialing and Serial Channel Parameters HQ
- Transfer, Outcall, Fax, and Pager Sequences - ( page 2 )

Pager Dialing Sequences:
1: LPCP#D 7:
2: HPPPPPC#D 8:
3: PPP2149564200#D 9:
4: PPPP9564200#D 10:
5: P9564200#D 11:
6: 12: PPPPPP4445PD

A "1" is Required for...
10 Digit Local Calls (Y/N): N
Long-distance Calls (Y/N): N

Number of Digits to Dial for...
Local Calls: 2 - 10 Digits
Toll Calls in Local Area Code: 2 - 10 Digits

Hi Ken,
Menu 6 is setup similar to above ... 1 required for LD should be Y.
When a caller reaches personal greeting and presses zero to reach an attendant calls are routed to a local number.
What was programmed previous was 8+7D, now that we are going to 10-digit dialling 8+10D we are getting "please try your call again"??

Is this on a Plexar system? Is the 10 digit attendant number in the mailbox profile? what is the number of the Att now and do you have an area code in menu 1-1? Is it really dialing to an outside number or is the att on the same system or PBX

Also if you can post screen shots of menu 1-1 and 6-1 and a mailbox profile that is set to go the 10 digit att

Hi Ken,
It now appears that it's a Centrex issue - when zeroing out to 7D cellular it works. When changed to 10D call can't be established but when we changed to toll free call established. We are now testing the Centrex.
Thanks for your input ... appreciate your expertise.
