I have a small office server with a dialup connection(with 64 ips routing via it from the upstream provider on it) and an Bridged ADSL link with one static ip from another provider.

On top of this we have a small office network(private IPS) that currently access the internet via dialup...

How do I change the route of office traffic to go via the ADSL? One of the problems we have had in the last 24hrs was when our dialup provider had an outage it also for some reason prevnted our adsl from working...they seem linked!

Any ideas?

If you have a router, you can connect that to your ADSL modem. The LAN would then be connected to the router. You would change the network info on all machines to use the internal IP of the router as the gateway and DNS server ip addresses. If you don't have a router, you can use one of your machines as a proxy server or gateway. If you are running linux on this machine, you may already have all you need to set it up to share your internet connection or can get it for free.

Thankx,

We are running a D-Link 504 which is a combined modem router. And the office network is on a seperate 8 port hub. In bridging mode I didnt think the 504 had a local IP. If it did would this still work?

It has to have a local ip, you couldn't route traffic through it if it didn't. John D. Saucier
