Is it possible using a 2002 or 20004 Nortel IP Phone to have 1 phone at a desk but depending on which user is currently sitting there, that they can change the phones extension to their own? I know with Cisco phones you can change the extension using some services but wasn't sure if this is also possible with the Nortel sets. The sets register to a BCM50.

Thanks
Mathew

Hot desking is what you're looking for.

The following is how I set it up. Others may have a quicker way to do it.

1. Press Feature *999 to enter Hot Desking Menu
2. Click on Admin
3. Create password
4. Confirm password
5. When “Disallow Hot Desking” appears, select change
6. Select “Allow Hot Desking”
7. Select quit
8. Go to Phone that will be hot desked
9. Press Feature *999 to enter Hot Desking Menu
10. Click on Divert
11. When “DN to Hot Desk” appears, enter DN to where extension will go to, press ok
12. Enter password of phone hot desking to and press ok
13. Phone will be hot desked to other extension
14. Test by calling extension from another phone and should ring on phone where hot desked to.
15. To cancel Hot Desking, press cancel.
