Inherited a Definity g3si when phone person retired...so am still learning the ropes.

We have a manager who has an office in the plant and now another one in our corp office (all on same G3 within same physical block of buildings).

Looking on how to setup his phones in the plant and in the office so that they ring on the same number and when he dials out it appears to come from the same number (same voicemail etc). Hoping that he can just pick up either phone without pushing buttons for inbound/outbound.

No other extension is needed on the phones.

Any help/direction is appreciated.

Create a new extension in the new location, then replace the call-appr buttons with brdg-appr buttons.

The new buttons would look like this:

1: brdg-appr B:1 E: (his extension)
2: brdg-appr B:2 E: (his extension)
3: brdg-appr B:3 E: (his extension)

Also, change the Message Lamp Ext: on page 1 to his extension so the voicemail light on the phone will light when he has voicemail.

kappkapter,

Just set up a second unpublished extension for the manager... Setup bridged appearances w/ring and when the manager calls from the second desk, have them use the bridged appearance.

Sorry, you also would want to set Auto Select Any Idle Appearance? n on page 2 to yes.

When it's set up this way, the phone will act just like he's on his other phone, he won't have to press any differnt buttons to make a call from his extension, just pickup the handset and dial, or answer incoming calls to his extension.
