I have an Avaya Partner ACS System with the following components:
5 Slot Carrier
2 308ECs
1 ACS Proc. R3.0
1 308EC

In that order. When I do Feature 59 I get:
P ACS R4.0 C01

This is for a single company. We have 12 lines. I want to use 10 lines for one company. 2 other lines for two separate companies. I would like to have 3 separate greetings and VM systems. With my current system is this possible? If not are there other cards that would facilitate this. Thanks in advance for any help

What kind of Voice Mail are you using? I didn't see one listed.

You can accomplish what you have listed, depending on what vm you have.

When I login using the RS232 I get v7.0.42.

We also have v7.0 when I login using the GUI driven software.

Is there any more equipment connected to your phone system or in the 5th slot of your 5 slot carrier?
With what you have listed 4 of the 5 slots are being used.

I don't mean to be dumb. Networking is my main hat.
5 Slot Carrier
1 2 308ECs
3 1 ACS Proc. R3.0
4 Partner Messaging module
5 308EC

This is the order from left to right. I hope this is better.

If I'm reading you correct you have in this order from left to right.
308EC, 308EC,ACS R3 upgraded to R4,Partner Messaging R7,308EC

How many port license does your voice mail have? 2, 4 or 6.

The phone system has 12 lines by 32 phones.
The voicemail can have 4 auto attendants, 200 mailboxes, 99 announcements and 99 submenus.

That is correct. We have one 2 port card.

Then with the hardware you have, you can definitely accomplish your 3 business scenario. But, I would strongly advise going to the 6 port card.

The system can do eveything you want. Just remember with 2 ports you are limited to 2 voice mail occurances at a time
for example 2 people checking or leaving messages, or 2 calls being answered by the auto attendant or 1 person leaving a message and 1 call be answered by autoattendant.

Hope this helps.

That is doable. I guess the 2 port card cannot handle 3 incoming companies. Can I asign the lines to the auto attendants via the software or do have to be at one of the programing phones?

I have 2 slots for the cards. Could I in theory add 2 6 port cards and have 12 ports?

Negative. The card is considered a 206 when you are programming. The 2 port will have to be replaced with a 4 or 6 port.It will only work in the left slot.

Thanks for your help. I have alot more info now to work with. If I get stuck I will post again. I'm out until Monday.

Tek-Tips is great!

If you think 6 ports is not enough either, and you are running 12 analog lines, you may want to upgrade to a more hefty system like the IP Office or Magix. With what you are paying for the analogs, you could get a pretty good package price for a PRI/T1 voice, strip of 16 channels for voice and the rest for data. Especially if you think the 3 companies are going to outgrow the Partner within the next year. Your partner system is reliable and can do everything you have stated, I love them. But, you may want to look at your growth.

Unfortunately we just moved into a new high dollar office. It may be a little while before we can upgrade. You have been very helpful. I have a contractor that we would have paid for this info. But he was too busy. That's OK now the Parter box is that much less a mystery.

The only thing that sux about putting 2 or mor companies on one Partner or Magix is having only one MUSIC ON HOLD
device.
