General question. I am learning WindowMaker and I have been to wm.themes.org and stared admiringly at all the eye candy. I have noticed several themes where the shell are transparent. That is, your background shows through your shell (xterm or rxvt or console.) When I download and install these themes, this is not the case.
How is it done or is this an exceptable forum for such a questions?

Well I would say the background color hasnt been set?
Maybe the default color is black or white and you have to change it????????
Simon Jones
sijones@talk21.com
<a href= young place
God am good!!! and good lookin :)

From what I recall, WindowMaker is KDE and Gnome aware these days. This means you can run Eterm, an Enlightenment X-term replacement. Eterm gives you the option of having transparent backgrounds. You can also have tiled and scaled bitmaps, as well as other eye candy :)
I've not actually tried doing this for a while, but the last time I tried (about 6months ago), it worked OK...
Have a dig around your local Gnome/Enlightenment mirror for RPMs and source.
Good luck :)
