Hi

I have been unfortunate enough to be faced with resolving a "fault" on a 3 LIM BC7 (CNA32) MD110. The situation is that LIM 3 is down and the HDU has no valid REL volumes. Also there is no Safety Backup available. Can't load LIM 3 therefore, can't do dumps etc. Pretty volatile situation, can anyone suggest the optimum solution to resolve this please ? Cannot comment on how the situation has arisen as I've been unable to find out.

Many thanks.

you have a big problem and the customer too! I would say: give whosrdaddy modemnumber and password and hope for a wonder...

But independentely do this:

Use PC-Regen to printout all still existing data and find the Maindistributionplan for LIM3 and hope, it is uptodate. If whosrdaddy can not convince the HDU to work, then you need a new HDU with new rel, new CNI and all the extrapatches. And then you should have so many data, as you can find...

are you sure the HDU contains no valid rel volumes??

an rfboi of the ipu or restarting IPP&TWP2 can sometimes do wonders...

Pretty sure that is the case. Looks like it was FICRI'd in Oct 2004 and then nothing successfully dumped for some reason even though DUFQI was set.

The "Safety Backup" wasn't actually connected as a Safety Backup as such but rather a cold additional HDU so I'm just the poor sod trying to pick up the pieces here.

Tried restarting the two PU's as you stated but nothing has changed ??

Many thanks.

Thanks for your earlier post too. The only fortunate thing here is that LIM3 has no routes or extensions on it. It's a legacy LIM hich has been retained maybe just for Common Functions at a guess but I think they want to retain it in the system for now.

Also LIM2 is to be engineered out of the equation anyway as it is remote and no longer used.

Looks like INL etc is the perhaps the only answer maybe ?

Thanks

yep, you're out of luck in that case. PC-REGEN & rebuild...
