1 last question. I have 5 reps that are entering field data in a form I created. i get several complaints about not being able to update or save the data they are entering becasue they get an error message that says they are not the exclusive user and the changes will not be saved. Is there any thing I can do or create that will allow multiple users access to the DB and update and save, with out having to wait for whoever has it t oexit the program. I am working with access 2000 and have 5 users counting my self.
Thanks!!

Hi there,

check the default open mode in your options:

Select 'Tools' > 'Options' in the menubar then select the Advanced tab.

There should be an options called "default open mode" which allows you to select either "Shared" or "Exclusive". Make sure "Shared" is selected.

Close and re-open your database.

See if this helps...

Cheers
