1 dsl modem & line/ 2 computers

I have the hub connected to the modem, but cannot get the 'network device unplugged' error to go away. The first computer works great with DSL, the second computer won't connect at all.

Unless your DSL provider is giving you 2 IP addresses (unlikely), you can't connect both machines this way. You will need a hardware router or to use Internet Connection Sharing.
