*1 call pickup on dterm phone stopped working? 1

Hello All, I'm a computer hardware tech thrown into communications roll for 18 building 500+ users... no training or documentation for job so sorry for stupid questions.

Another Question: I have two main post 2000ivs determ phones that used to be able to pick up the other phones calls by pressing *1, now they can't, any ideas? This would help me greatly untill I get sent for the proper training required to do this job.

I did inherit the command manual and have taught myself a couple helpful commands 02, 53, 770, and E5, so any help at all would be so so so apreciated.

If none of your extensions can use *1 to pickup calls, check out CM 20 to make sure your access code *1 (A1 in MOC Term) is programmed for call pickup-direct.

Hi guys

Do you mean that *1 will pick up any call that comes in on the main no - cause I tried this and doesn't work - we're on an ics 120 - a colleague said that this only works if you're in a call pickup group. Is this correct and if so what are the CAT commands to set one up? Oh and since this is our live system I'm playing with - can I set one up without affecting other stuff. Many TIA.

On the 2000, there is Call Pickup-Direct and Call Pickup-Group.

First you have to allow Call pickup-direct in CM1514 (15=1). This should allow call pickup-direct for the default service class (15).

Next you'll assign an access code for Call Pickup-Direct. In CM 200, set A1=A021 (for the 2000IPS or IVS2). It is probably not A021 if you have an older 2000 IVS, but I do not have an IVS manual handy at the moment to look it up.

This should be all that you need to do to have call pickup-direct. Should be able to dial *1 + the number to pick up that line as it is ringing. If not, let me know.

The command for actually creating pickup groups is 16

Example

160>200:201
160>201:202
160>202:200

This would put 200, 201, & 202 into a pickup group.

The stations do not have to be in any order, as long as it completes a full circuit.

If you removed or unassigned and reassigned an extension their is a good that you may have broken the call pickup group in command 160. If that loop is broken none of the phones will be able to pick up. Hope this helps

Problem solved thanks to all your help!! I went into command 16 and found one number that just didn't seem correct based on the way the others were going. So I changed that number to keep the chain going and that fixed our problem. It was very much appreciated from everyone at the main post of that facility. Thanks again guys for all your expertise!!
