1 backup/restore job uses 2 tape drives simultaneously

Hi,

I have 1 SDLT tape drive and going to get another one. Our backup job moves into second tape now. Idea is not to have human interaction to swap the tape. Thinking of using 2 drives for tape1 and tape2 and backup would use tape2 after tape1 is full. Or maybe use multi-stream if possible.

Can I use both drives on 1 job? Like multi-stream or something.

sure, just have both drives in the same device group.

Hi,

I tried to run a backup job but it used only 1 tape drive. I have 2 tape drives in the same group setup. Do I need to do anything else. I've changed the option to overwrite any media as well. As well as to use any media in backup option.

Up date the drive firmware so they are at the same revision.
